Home Cleaning Mistakes

Everyone has their way of cleaning their home. However, many of us get hung up on a particular method, unaware there are simpler and effortless ways. There are also some common mistakes when cleaning the house that can be avoided to make the process more efficient.

1. Excessive Use of Products

2. Using the Wrong Cleaning Products and Tools

3. Use Dirty Cleaning Products

4. Clutter

5. Irregular Cleaning

1. Excessive Use of Products

Many think the more cleaning products they use in the home, the better. This is not the case. Using too many chemicals can lead to excessive soiling of cleaning tools such as microfiber cloths (which can leave streaks), persistent chemical odours and a longer time to remove spills. When it comes to cleaning products, remember that they are rarely needed.

2. Using the Wrong Cleaning Products and Tools

One of the most common mistakes in cleaning is using the wrong products and tools. Remember that different surfaces have their specific cleaning products. If you use the wrong cleaning product, not only will you waste time, as the area to be treated will not be properly cleaned, but the wrong cleaning product can also damage parts of the house. Vinegar, for example, is effective on tile but can leave indelible scratches on stone surfaces.

3. Use Dirty Cleaning Products

Sounds ironic. But a lot of us actually act in that way. If you start with a dirty rag, mop or sponge, you won't need to clean. Instead, you'll get dirt, grease and hand abrasion all over them.

For cleanliness and health reasons, you should wash them well after each use. Even if cleaned once, sponges and cloths should be rinsed and renewed just before use.

4. Clutter

You don't want to search the house for freshly opened cleaning supplies while you're cleaning or go down to the basement to retrieve cleaning supplies. To save time, store cleaning tools in one place, preferably in a locked cabinet and out of reach of children. If possible, place cabinets near areas that are frequently cleaned.

5. Irregular Cleaning

Establishing a cleaning plan to save time and effort is very important. If you do it weekly, you can do it in a reasonable amount of time. If you don't have a set schedule for your tasks, they will pile up, and you may not be able to complete the job. ...... And you will always procrastinate!

Avoid these five basic mistakes when cleaning the house, and cleaning will become easy.
