When it comes to cleaning products, remember that they are rarely needed.

If you use the wrong cleaning product, not only will you waste time, as the area to be treated will not be properly cleaned, but the wrong cleaning product can also damage parts of the house. Vinegar, for example, is effective on tile but can leave indelible scratches on stone surfaces.

Sounds ironic. But a lot of us actually act in that way. If you start with a dirty rag, mop or sponge, you won't need to clean. Instead, you'll get dirt, grease and hand abrasion all over them.
